9TH PARLIAMENT OF YOUTH LEADERS

1. WHAT IS THE PARLIAMENT OF YOUTH LEADERS?

The Parliament of Youth Leaders is a biennial congress of youth leaders that serve as a platform to ventilate issues and concerns affecting the youth sector. The selection of delegates and the implementation of the activity is undertaken by the National Youth Commission as provided under Section 13 of RA 8044 otherwise known as The Youth in Nation Building Act of 1995.

2. WHO ARE QUALIFIED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PARLIAMENT?

Delegates to the parliament must be Filipino citizens who are between 15-30 years old as of February 29, 2012;
Residing at the place of representation for at least six (6) months at the time of submission of application forms;
A member of an organization;
Able to contribute to the objectives of the 9th Parliament of Youth Leaders

3. WHO ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ATTEND THE PARLIAMENT?

Former delegates of previously conducted National Youth Parliaments of the NYC are no longer qualified to participate

4. WHAT IS THE CRITERIA FOR SELECTION OF THE PARTICIPANTS?

One of the major criteria in selecting the participants to the Parliament of Youth Leaders is equal and geographical representation among men and women. They shall be of good moral character, able to read and write and has not been convicted of any crime involving moral turpitude.

5. WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICATION TO THE 9TH PARLIAMENT OF YOUTH LEADERS?

Accomplished NYP9 application form with 2×2 photo attached
Any document indicating date of birth ( ex. Birth certificate, baptismal certificate, school ID, company ID, driver’s license, passport, etc.)
Any proof of regional represenation
Original copy of Certification from organization being represented ( format may be downloaded from http://www.nyc.gov.ph)
Essay ( maximum total of 500 words ) that answers the two questions to be submitted using Arial font, size12, double space. The essay may also be handwritten and expressed in the applicant’s dialect)

What is one key issue concerning the Filipino youth and how do you think it should be addressed?
(Ano ang isang pangunahing usapin tungkol sa kabataang Pilipino at paano sa tingin mo ito dapat solusyunan?)

What have been your major involvements in your community/organization/s, program/s, project/s
(Ano ang iyong mga nagging pangunahing tungkulin sa mga programa at proyekto ng iyong komunidad at samahan?)

6. HOW TO SUBMIT THE REQUIREMENTS?
