Guinness World Records II

Guinness World Records™ has become a household name and the global leader in world records. No other enterprise collects, confirms, accredits and presents world record data with the same investment in comprehensiveness and authenticity.

Here are the second batch of  my collection of amazing pictures of the Guiness World Record Holders in 2009 by countries.

 

ALBANIA - The largest paint brush mosaic. The largest paintbrush mosaic measured 10m by 2.6m and was achieved by Saimir Strati on 11 November 2009 in celebration of Guinness World Records Day.

BELGIUM - The largest cardboard mosaic. The largest cardboard mosaic measured 108 m² ( 1097.91 ft²) and was achieved by pupils and teachers of the Go! Onderwijs van de Vlaamse Gemeenschap (Brussels) at Warandepark', Brussels, Belgium, on 12 November 2009.

USA - Largest cheerleading dance. The Largest Cheerleading Dance had 297 participants and was achieved by the Universal Cheerleaders Association in Memphis, Tennessee on 7 November 2009.

AUSTRALIA - The largest human wheelbarrow race. The largest human wheelbarrow race was achieved by 1,554 participants (777 pairs) in an event organised for Guinness World Records Day, in Armidale, NSW, Australia, on November 6, 2009.

FINLAND - Fastest 40m human wheelbarrow race. The record for the fastest 40m human wheelbarrow race is 17 seconds achieved by Adrian Rodrigues Buenrostro (Mexico) and Sergiy Vetrogonov (Ukraine) in Helsinki , Finland for Guinness World Records Day in November 2009.

GERMANY - The longest distance water sliding in 24 hours (team). The furthest distanced covered in 24 hours on a waterslide by a team is 1,357.22 km achieved by Daniel Gildner, Falco Tegtmeier, Kai Falk, Manuel Wasserzier, Marius Toborek, Rudolf Hofmann, Marc Fugger, Andrej Sonnenberg, Stefan Kleinöder, Thomas Renner, (all Germany). The attempt took place on the 356.32 m water slide Magic-Eye at Galaxy Erding, in Erding, Germany, on 11 and 12 November 2009.

GERMANY - Highest wall climb on darts. Maiko Kiesewetter from Hamburg achieved the record for the highest wall climb on darts with 5 meters. The attempt took place in Hamburg, Germany at Zeisehallen on 11 November 2009 as part of Guinness World Records Day 2009.

GERMANY - Most concrete blocks broken while holding a raw egg. The record for the most concrete blocks broken in a single stack with the elbow whilst holding a raw egg in the hand of the arm is eleven. This achievment was done by Joe Alexander from Hamburg, Germany, at Zeisehallen in Hamburg, Germany on 11. November 2009 as part of Guinness World Records Day 2009.

ITALY - Longest platform-to-platform bicycle jump. The longest platform-to-platform bicycle jump was 4m 02 achieved by Vittorio Brumotti (Italy) in Fiera Milano, Milan, Italy for Guinness World Records Day in November 2009.

LEBANON - Largest collection of model cars. The largest collection of model cars was achieved by Mr. Nabil Karam (Lebanon) in Zouk, Beirut, Lebanon on Guinness World Records Day 2009. Mr Karam instructed the witnesses to stop counting at 22,222.

LEBANON - Tallest matchstick model. The tallest matchstick model was achieved by Mr. Toufic Daher (Lebanon) at City Mall, Beirut, Lebanon on 11 November 2009. The model measured 6m 53cm and used approximately 6 million matches (150 boxes, each with 40,000 matches)

NEW ZEALAND - Furthest distance to blow a coin. The furthest distance to blow a coin is 37.6cm set by Alistair Galpin in Auckland on the 12 November

NORTHERN IRELAND - Largest sports lesson. The record for the largest sports lesson is 884 participants held by Ballyclare High School, Northern Ireland, on 12 November 2009 Guinness World Records Day.

NORTHERN IRELAND - Largest gathering of people dressed as storybook characters. Belfast’s Carr’s Glen Primary School dressed up 300 children as their favourite storybook characters to achieve a new Guinness World Record on 12 November 2009.

NORWAY - Largest gingerbread man. The largest gingerbread man weighed 651 kg (1,435 lb 3 oz) and was made by IKEA Furuset (Norway) in Oslo, Norway, on 9 November 2009 in celebration of Guinness World Records Day 2009.

TURKEY - Most concrete blocks broken in 30 seconds. The most concrete blocks broken in 30s is 655 and was achieved by Ali Bahecepete on 11th November in celebration of Guinness World Records Day.

LONDON, ENGLAND - Furthest distance to pull a bus with the hair. British ironman Manjit Singh managed to set an ‘impossible’ record in central London by pulling a 8.5 ton double-decker bus by his hair for 21.2m.

LONDON, ENGLAND - Most people hugging for a minute. 112 commuters at St. Pancras International stopped and hugged for one minute in the early morning of Guinness World Records Day.

USA - Largest cup of hot chocolate. The Largest Cup of Hot Chocolate consisted of 4 gallons of chocolate drink (cup measured 14 inches wide and 11 inches tall) and was achieved at Serendipity 3 in New York, New York on 9 November 2009.
